GLOBAL ANALYSIS (Cruise plot file: RC_SO):
The average of all cross overs is +3.2 ppm.
The global inversion (WDLSQ) suggests no significant adjustment (+1.7 +/-6.7
ppm).
REGIONAL ANALYSIS:
8 cross overs were analyzed. The average of all cross overs is +1.8 (+/-4.6)
ppm.
2 cross overs show significant differences (>5 ppm), but they involve cruises
that are thought to have significant offsets in salinity. When the suggested
offsets are taken into account, the average of all cross overs is +2.0 (+/-2.4)
ppm. This suggests that no adjustment would be required.
CONCLUSION:
The global and regional analyses agree.
Based on this I suggest no adjustment for salinity.

GLOBAL ANALYSIS (Cruise plot file: RC_SO):
The average of all cross overs is 1.076.
The global inversion (WDLSQ) suggests no significant adjustment (0.985
+/-0.024).
REGIONAL ANALYSIS:
7 cross overs were analyzed. The average of all cross overs is 1.090 (+/-0.058).
All cross overs but 1 show significant differences ranging from 1.05 to 1.18,
but only 1 of them (showing an offset of 1.079+/-0.019) involve a cruise that is
thought to have no significant offset in phosphate. When the offsets suggested
for the other cruises are taken into account, the average of all cross overs is
1.070 (+/-0.004). This suggests that an adjustment of 0.93 could be required.
CONCLUSION:
The global and regional analyses disagree. The former suggests no significant
differences, whereas the latter suggests an adjustment of 0.93. The latter
result is preferred as it appears more coherent with the adjustments suggested
for the other cruises.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of 0.93 for phosphate.

09AR19910925 - phosphate
Xovers run against the adjusted reference dataset composed of CARINA and
PACFIFICA. Mean offset is 1.068 based on five crossovers. All are consistently
this high so the recommended adjustment is 7% down.

09AR19910925 - oxygen
GLOBAL ANALYSIS (Cruise plot file: RC_SO):
The average of all cross overs is 0.937.
The global inversion (WDLSQ) suggests an adjustment of 1.015 (+/-0.006).
REGIONAL ANALYSIS:
8 cross overs were analyzed. The average of all cross overs is 0.976 (+/-0.023).
All cross overs show significant differences (>1%). 4 of them involve cruises
that are thought to have no significant offset in oxygen, suggesting an offset
around 0.98. When the offsets suggested for the other cruises are taken into
account, the average of all cross overs is 0.982 (+/-0.003). This suggests that
an adjustment of 1.02 could be required.
CONCLUSION:
The global and regional analyses agree.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of 1.02 for oxygen.

09AR19910925 - silicate
GLOBAL ANALYSIS (Cruise plot file: RC_SO):
The average of all cross overs is 1.011.
The global inversion (WDLSQ) suggests no significant adjustment (1.008
+/-0.034).
REGIONAL ANALYSIS:
8 cross overs were analyzed. The average of all cross overs is 1.039 (+/-0.047).
3 cross overs show no significant differences (<2%) and 2 of them involve
cruises that are thought to have no significant offset in silicate. When the
offsets suggested for the other cruises are taken into account, the average of
all cross overs is 1.06 (+/-0.008). This suggests that no adjustment would be
required.
CONCLUSION:
The global and regional analyses agree.
Based on this I suggest no adjustment for silicate.

09AR19910925 - phosphate

+/-0.015).
REGIONAL ANALYSIS:
8 cross overs were analyzed. The average of all cross overs is 0.990 (+/-0.024).
4 cross overs show no significant differences (<2%) and involve cruises that are
thought to have no significant offset in nitrate. When the offsets suggested for
the other cruises are taken into account, the average of all cross overs is
0.992 (+/-0.008). This suggests that no adjustment would be required.
CONCLUSION:

09AR19910925 - salinity
