The inversion suggest a correction of 6.3 ppm based on 11 crossovers with a mean
offset of -12.4 ppm. This very biased by crossover with (4505) 316N19810721 and
took place in NASPG. Do not adjust. This is consistent with CARINA.

Mean offset with 3 cruises: -2.9
Good x-overs with reliable cruises.
Inversion suggests 4.7
However, because of good x-overs I suggest NO adjustment, in agreement with
GLODAPv1.

06MT19941115 - tco2
The average of all cross overs (manual) is 0.41
The average of all cross overs (automatic) is 0.23
Crossovers with core cruises only suggests offsets of 0.08(manual) and
0.92(automatic)
Inversion results also suggest no adjustment (2.45 and 1.36 for WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively).
Manual and automatic results and inversion fall within limits.
This cruise is itself defined as a core cruise - the crossover results support
this.
Based on this I don't suggest any adjustment for the 06MT19941115 tco2 values.

Suggested correction was 0.9456, but mean offset only 0.996. Evidence is not
convincing. High vs some and low vs others, mostly seems fine. Do not adjust.
This decision is consistent with that made in CARINA.

06MT19941115 - phosphate
This cruise is in GLODAP. The analysis by Gouretski and Jancke (PiO, 2001)
sugggest an adjustment of 0.061 umol/kg.
The N/P ratio is 15.85, intercept -0.48.
The average of all cross overs is 1.017, suggesting that 06MT19941115 phosphate
is about right, although there is
considerable scatter in the phosphate cross overs (i.e. not so accurate
measurements of phosphate in general).
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.97, which, contary to the mean of the
crossovers suggest that an adjustment
might be warranted.
The cross over results for 06MT19941115 against the core-cruises is a mixed bag.
Considering that there seems to be general
difficulties with phosphate in the data set, no adjustment is probably a good
suggestion.

AO inversion suggested correction is 0.96, and the mean offset is 1.03, and it
is high compared to all cruises. The cruise covered Iceland and Irminger basins,
and parts of the Labrador Sea. The data appear offset in all of these basins,
and we recommend that an adjustment of 0.96 is applied to these data. This is
potentially too large, CARINA adjustment was 0.98, but the mean of all CARINA
offsets was 1.047, in agreement with the 0.096 correction. BUT, we follow CARINA
suggestion, so recommend 0.98.

This cruise is in GLODAP. The analysis by Gouretski and Jancke (PiO, 2001)
sugggest an adjustment of 0.79 umol/kg.
The N/P ratio is 15.85, intercept -0.48.
The average of all cross overs is 1.047, suggesting that 06MT19941115 nitrate is
a bit on the high side,
but with one outlier creating a possibly to high number.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 0.98, which is just about the limit for
any nutrient adjustments.
The cross over results for the core-cruises all (with the exception of the
18HU19970509) confirm that 06MT19941115
is too high.
Based on this I suggest an adjustment of 0.98 for nitrate for 06MT19941115.

Revised at Bergen workshop. CARINA inversion suggested a correction of 1.04,
which was not taken into account, deemed inconclusive. With the new evidence
here we conclude that correction of 1.05 is appropriate.

Inversion suggest correction of 1.05, and mean offset is 0.947. This appears
consistently low. Recommend that this is adjusted by 1.05. This is not
consistent with CARINA suggesting no adjustment, but quite consistent with
GLODAP suggesting 0.7 μmol/kg up, corresponding to ~5% . In the end, I will
follow CARINA as we usually do, since this is based on more data. Consider
revising in final analysis.

This cruise is in GLODAP. The analysis by Gouretski and Jancke (PiO, 2001)
sugggest an adjustment of -0.7 umol/kg.
The average of all cross overs is 0.968, suggesting that 06MT19941115 silicate
might be a bit on the low side.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.036 and 1.043 (WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively) , wwhich support an upward adjustment.
However, the cross over results for 06MT19941115 (silicate) are inconclusive,
and my conclusion is that no adjustment is warranted.

The inversion suggest at adjustment of 1.006. Mean offset is 1.003. This is at
to below 1% limit, and cruise took place in NASPG/Lab Sea. Not convinced this is
biased, and no adjustment is recommended. This is in agreement with CARINA.

06MT19941115 - oxygen
The average of all cross overs is 0.999.
The inversions suggest no adjustment (1.004 WDLSQ and 1.001 WLSQ).
The cross-overs with others core cruises do not support that an adjustment is
warranted.
Based on this I suggest no adjustment to the oxygen values.

Mean offset with 3 cruises: -2.9
Good x-overs with reliable cruises.

However, because of good x-overs I suggest NO adjustment, in agreement with
GLODAPv1.

Revised at Bergen workshop. CARINA inversion suggested a correction of 1.04,
which was not taken into account, deemed inconclusive. With the new evidence
here we conclude that correction of 1.05 is appropriate.

06MT19941115 - silicate
Inversion suggest correction of 1.05, and mean offset is 0.947. This appears
consistently low. Recommend that this is adjusted by 1.05. This is not
consistent with CARINA suggesting no adjustment, but quite consistent with
GLODAP suggesting 0.7 μmol/kg up, corresponding to ~5% . In the end, I will
follow CARINA as we usually do, since this is based on more data. Consider
revising in final analysis.

06MT19941115 - phosphate
Suggested correction was 0.9456, but mean offset only 0.996. Evidence is not
convincing. High vs some and low vs others, mostly seems fine. Do not adjust.
This decision is consistent with that made in CARINA.

06MT19941115 - nitrate
AO inversion suggested correction is 0.96, and the mean offset is 1.03, and it
is high compared to all cruises. The cruise covered Iceland and Irminger basins,
and parts of the Labrador Sea. The data appear offset in all of these basins,
and we recommend that an adjustment of 0.96 is applied to these data. This is
potentially too large, CARINA adjustment was 0.98, but the mean of all CARINA
offsets was 1.047, in agreement with the 0.096 correction. BUT, we follow CARINA
suggestion, so recommend 0.98.

06MT19941115 - salinity
The inversion suggest a correction of 6.3 ppm based on 11 crossovers with a mean
offset of -12.4 ppm. This very biased by crossover with (4505) 316N19810721 and
took place in NASPG. Do not adjust. This is consistent with CARINA.

06MT19941115 - silicate

Considering that there seems to be general
difficulties with phosphate in the data set, no adjustment is probably a good
suggestion.
