Autogenerated CTD salinity and CTD oxygen update
Automated update! This overwrites adjustment values (and flags) of CTDoxy and
CTDsal with the values from BOTsal and BOToxy for every cruise, unless CTDsal
(or CTDoxy) is not present or bad.
Salinity action ID:5; CTD salinity data good, setting CTD salinity offset and QC
flag to bottle values.
Oxygen action ID:3; no CTD oxygen data. Setting CTD oxygen offset to -999, QC
flag removed.

The inversion suggest a correction of 3.16 ppm based on 8 crossovers with a mean
offset of 0.2 ppm. Do not adjust. This is consistent with CARINA.

06MT19941012 - tco2
Mean offset with 7 cruises: 0.1
Inversion gives +0.6 for correction.
Most of the cruises with which 06MT19941012 has x-overs are of good quality.
I suggest NO adjustment, in agreement with GLODAPv1.

06MT19941012 - tco2
No manual cross overs were performed.
The average of all cross overs (automatic) is -0.99 (omitting OMEX1 cruise from
analysis).
Crossovers with core cruises only suggests offsets of -1.71(automatic)
Inversion results also suggest no adjustment (0.06 and -0.94 for WLSQ and WDLSQ,
respectively).
Automatic results and inversion fall within limits.
This cruise is itself defined as a core cruise - the crossover results support
this.
Based on this I don't suggest any adjustment for the 06MT19941012 tco2 values.

too high and very noisy, and thus highly suspicious. Moreover, the profiles
approximately between 17W and 27W are biased very high at mid-depth.

Mean offset with 7 cruises: 20.4
Data have large spread, i.e. not of high quality.
Inversion suggests -12.2
CARINA with more x-overs suggests -25 which we follow here.

There are 19 xovers. The fitted offset is -25.1. The suggested adjustment is -25
Most of residuals fits inside +-10, and half part of them inside +-5.
No good fit with core-cruises crossovers.
Crossover with 74DI19970807 and 06GA20000506 suggest a minor offset, but
the other 4 core cruises (2 of them GLODAP), even suggest an offset of around
-28.

This cruise was included in CARINA recommending no adjustment to these data.
Here we follow that recommendation. For the record, our AO inversion suggested
adjustment is 0.9501, mean offset was 1.012. The data high vs some and low vs
others. I do not think this is convincing for adjustment. Consistent with GLODAP
(0.04 micromol per kg adjustment).

There are 15 xovers. The fitted offset is -0.004. The suggested adjustment is 0
The inversion residuals have a large variability. Even the std of the individual

The pH data of this cruise has a lot of dispersion and so their calification as
poor.

This cruise is in GLODAP. The analysis by Gouretski and Jancke (PiO, 2001)
sugggest an adjustment of 0.040 umol/kg.
The N/P ratio is 14.57, intercept 14.57.
The average of all cross overs is 1.014, suggesting that 06MT19941012 phophate
is about right.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of 1.001, which is well below the limit for
any nutrient adjustments.

do not need any adjustment,
although there is conciderable scatter in the data.

Inversion suggest correction of 0.998 and mean offset is 1.008. No adjustment is
recommended. This is quite different from GLODAP suggesting that the data were
1.8 μmol/kg low, ~10%, but consistent with CARINA.

06MT19941012 - silicate
This cruise is in GLODAP. The analysis by Gouretski and Jancke (PiO, 2001)
sugggest an adjustment of -1.8 umol/kg.
The average of all cross overs is 1.036, suggesting that 06MT19941012 silicate
is about right.
The inversion suggest an adjustment of about 0.98, suggesting that the silicate
values might be little high.
However, the cross over results vs. the core-cruises are inconclusive, and I
suggest no adjustment to the silicate values of 06MT19941012.

The average of all cross-overs is 1.012 due to some cruises that should not be
considered in the inversion because of poor data.
The inversion suggests an adjustment of 0.976 (WDLSQ) and 0.972 (WLSQ). I rerun
the inversion without these cruises (74DI19890716, 74DI19890612, 74DI19890511,
74AB19910712, 74AB19900528 and 06MT19920322). This new inversion does not
confirm the adjustment.
The cross-overs with core cruise seems to support no adjustment.
Base on this evidence, I suggest no adjustment for the oxygen values.

No manual cross overs were performed.
